The tubeset for my pursuit frame.

From left to right: the aero down tube, the aero wheel-wrapping seat tube, the top tube (which I will be ovalizing), the bottom bracket shell, the head tube, and the chainstays (which I will also be ovalizing). I’ve also got a pair of chainstays (Columbus MAX) that Paul is hooking me up with. So it’ll be a mix of those with some True Temper Platinum OX and Verus HT. Also, not pictured are the rear dropouts, which are Pacenti MkIII track drops with stainless faces.

I’ve already got a good chunk of the parts needed to build this sucker up — I just need a crankset, headset (integrated), fork, and wheels.

Color scheme: going with a basic white frame, with BC04 Stratto Blue panels from House of Kolor. Subject to change.

Hey, you’ve probably already talked about this, but from where do you get your tubesets? I’m looking at building a recumbent so I need to find someone who will sell me individual tubes, probably unbutted, and I’m not finding much online so far.

I meant to add: in reading the Paterek manual, I’ve found a lot of references to precision layout equipment. JTS Machinery Supply is a pretty good source for high-quality equipment at reasonable prices, generally lower than Enco or certainly than MSC, and their quality is better than the Harbor Freight stuff. But if the shipping isn’t horrible, stuff like surface plates show up on ebay for a reasonable price, and they can take an *awful* lot of abuse before their functionality is impaired. (Not the case, I’ve found, with micrometers.)

      Duly noted re: JTS.

I’ve got my laundry list assembled of everything I need. I just scored a free torch, oxy-acetylene tanks, sparker, and angle grinder last night. Who can argue with that?
