Twenty-five years ago today1, I went to MEPS2 in Minneapolis. I took the ASVAB, and a physical, and picked out an MOS, and did a bunch of paperwork. I didn’t quite get to the point of taking the oath that day before MEPS closed up at 1700.
On the way home, I discovered on the radio that Iraq had just invaded Kuwait.
August 2, 1990.
It seems like a million years ago. And the fun was only just starting.
