AdSense Woes

So one of the things I’ve been working on is monetizing this blog. The first step in that, is to get AdSense going.

Now I applied for Adsense waaaaaay back in 2006. In 2008, I merged it with my Google account. They sent me a PIN number to enter. That was while I was moving, so I never saw it. After having some difficulty getting Adsense to show ads on this site, I determined that I needed to request a new PIN. Requested. Received. Entered. No resolution to ads showing as a grey box. (See the bottom of this post.)

At this point, I kinda figured my account had been deactivated. I applied for the Google Affiliate Network, and was accepted, so I was kinda curious about whether or not I was truly deactivated.

Code’s correct, it’s been on the site for over a week, and still no ads. Confusing and frustrating.

Anyone have any ideas?

  1. I did a test setup of adsense at work last year, and poof, they showed up no problem. This was after google took over, so my guess would be that something went wonky with your account and it’s inactive or something, like you said. I would just re-register and not fight with it. It should be a no brainer to setup. 🙂
