Due to some weird clusterfuck at my hosting company, about half of my hosted websites went down sometime this weekend and didn’t come back until last night, about 18 hours after I raised alarm bells via the tech support form. I’m not back to 100% yet, but things are progressing nicely. So that’s good.
So let’s see…what to discuss? The weekend was fairly normal. We had Kate’s nephews for the weekend. I took them to The Karate Kid on Friday and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the movie. You can see a lot of his dad in Jaden Smith, which is pretty cool, and Jackie Chan was exceptionally good, as well. The cinematography was excellent, too — loved the sweeping views of the Chinese countryside and the entry to the Forbidden City.
On Saturday, we went to an indoor water park called Grand Rios. It was a pretty good time, most of which I spent on the lazy river. A few runs on the slides were, of course, in-order. After that, we had food and naps. Lengthy naps.
Sunday it was, as usual, framebuilding. Finishing in the bottom bracket cluster’s fillet has been a painful process and is really what’s holding me back. I brought the bike home with me, along with some strips of sandpaper, so that I can get this damn thing finished before my next opportunity to get up to Paul’s and work on the small details done and dealt with, so I can get this sucker off to paint. As it stands, though, it is unlikely that I’ll be able to have it finished in time for Minnecycle 2, which blows. I was looking forward to showing it off there. I did talk to Kate about going to NAHBS a bit, and I’m sure that’ll require more discussion due to the financial outlay required. Must be sure to remember not to rush things, that slow-and-steady is what wins the race.
Anyway, that’s where things are at. Heading to my first game at the new Target Field today. We’ll see if it’s enough to get me back into watching baseball. Not sure.
