So yesterday I started a new job — it’s not a full-time gig in my career path, but it does help pay the bills while I hunt for a new gig. I’m spinning wrench in a bike shop again, this time at Bokoo Bikes, not far from my new domicile. In a five hour shift, I got my head wrapped around their workflow, did some HR paperwork, did one large-scale tune-up, and jockeyed some smaller walk-in tasks. I enjoyed it, and it set the tone for the rest of the day.
I got home with the kids, got them both fed, then got them in the car and ran a quick errand (getting baby formula). Once home, I got Eddy watching Cars for the millionth time and did the kitchen while Sam watched and babbled at me. Then got Eddy off to bed and tackled the straightening up of the living room, dining room, and entryway.
Today, I have an interview at a temping agency at 10 a.m., and then I’m back in the workshop from noon until 7 p.m.
Two strange things I’ve noticed in the past, that seem to be applying in the here and now. Once I have a job lined up, other possibilities start crawling out of the woodwork. On Monday and Tuesday, I had no less than three former co-workers/friends get ahold of me with some exciting possibilities.
So it’s ramping up. Any of you guys have anything opening up? Cities I’m open to: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco/Bay Area, Austin, Chicago, Denver, and Boulder. Got stuff? Let me know! Either contact me via web form, or comment below.
Looking for: senior project management, senior marketing/marcomm roles.
