Medication Shift

Adderall is no longer my ADD med of choice. It took forever to get it dialed-in, and the result was taking a 30mg time-release in the morning, with another in early-afternoon. That was what it took to get me to focus, and the side effects were horrible:

  • Asshole Mode Engaged!
  • Anxiety.
  • Irritable as fuck.
  • Clenching jaw constantly.
  • Completely fucked-up sleep schedule.
  • Obliterated libido.

So after talking to my doctor, I decided to switch to Vyvanse, which is a single-dose for 24 hours, and attached to a different molecule than Adderall time-release, and it seems to go a lot smoother. It alleviated all of the above symptoms, except the libido issues, which was still somewhat present.

After a month on the new medication and talking to the doc, I’ve decided to stick with the Vyvanse. Upped my Wellbutrin dosage, which should help improve the focus and help to further alleviate the libido issues. The downside of this is, if the Wellbutrin does is too high, the side effects can include:

  • Asshole Mode Engaged!
  • Anxiety.
  • Irritable as fuck.

So, you know, counterproductive. We’ll see how this goes. The upside to the Vyvanse is that I don’t get all jittery and asshole-y1, and while I can focus like I should be able to, my thinking is more flexible that it was under the onslaught of the Adderall. And I feel more human. Not sure when the next update on this is coming. Hopefully not soon. 🤣
