I am so out of shape, it’s not even funny. I looked at my ride data from my last ride this morning and I actually felt a little sick to my stomach.
And I’m at the point where I cannot blame illness or just a lack of riding. The thing is, my diet has sucked ass for the last year — I’m overweight, overly sedentary, and generally so exhausted after a day at the office (worse: a day with office-then-bike-shop), that I’m not of a mind to do anything other than sit on the couch.
My new training plan kicked off yesterday evening with some time at the gym on the weights.
Today, the dietary restrictions have gone into effect. I’ve arrived at the office, had a 6oz. serving of scrambled eggs, and a low-cal bottle of Sobe Lifewater. Got a Healthy Choice lunch in-hand. After the shop tonight, I’ll be doing an hour of Zone 1 (easy spinning).
Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. And getting rid of this goddamn beer-and-junkfood-gut.
